Objective: The goal is to design and implement a garden that not only supports beneficial insects like ladybugs and praying mantises but also promotes biodiversity, enhances air quality, and provides pollinators with a natural habitat.

Deliverables:

1. Garden Design:

   • A multi-zoned garden with microhabitats to attract ladybugs, praying mantises, and other beneficial insects.
   • In-ground and hanging baskets arranged in arched tiers forRodent-friendly food, with deadheading to keep the arrangement fresh.
   • A raised bed garden with bedding plants and trailing Salvias for a mix of low, mid, and high growth, creating shaded and sunny microhabitats.

2. Site Preparation:

   • Clear an area of at least 500 square feet (46.45 square meters) for the garden.
   • Remove invasive species and prepare the soil for sustainable garden practices.

3. Plant Selection:

   • Include plants known for attracting ladybugs and praying mantises, such as Black-Eyed Susan, marigolds, and petunias.
   • Mix native and perennials for resilience and sustainability.

4. Site Plan:

   • Create a detailed site plan showing the layout of the garden, including water features, pollinator-friendly soil, and mulching areas.
